To view the crime reports, scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on the appropriate links for the year and month you wish to view. Crimes are in chronological order, with most recent crimes at the bottom of the list. Hard copies of the Daily Reports are also available at the University of Virginia Police department located at 2304 Ivy Road, during normal business hours.
According to Virginia State Code, 23-232.2, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:
1. The disclosure is prohibited by law.
2. If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual.
3. If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection.
4. If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence.
Disposition Definitions (effective October 2011)
The following is an explanation of the terminology used to complete the Disposition section of the UPD Crime Reports:
The case is currently being investigated by UPD.
The case is determined through investigation to be false or baseless. No offense occurred nor was attempted.
The case is being investigated by an agency other than UPD.
The subject(s) has been arrested by UPD.
Case has no solvability; no suspects or witnesses or the case has been closed.
The case has been cleared exceptionally due to the death of offender, prosecution denied, extradition declined or victim refuses to prosecute.
