Please allow up to 5 business days for the request to be processed. Once processed, the report can be mailed to your address or picked up at the University Police Department (must have photo ID). Reports can be picked up from Monday through Friday between 8am and 4pm.
Providing a synopsis is entirely at the option of the Police Department. Release of police records, investigative reports, and other information is guided by Virginia's FOI Act and FBI and Virginia State Police regulations. Defendants in criminal cases should obtain information from the Commonwealth Attorney's Office under the Discovery Process.
